PHILOSOPHY
Music surrounds us. From the soundtracks to films, the background music in stores or workplaces, to your personal music library, we hear it, it speaks to us and means something. Making music can mean even more. Learning an instrument teaches valuable skills including goal setting, hand/eye coordination, perseverance and self discipline. It is a creative outlet for students young and old. I will work with every student to establish goals regarding technique, music reading and style and adapt the depth of knowledge to the skill of the player. I have worked with adult beginners, intermediate youngsters, and everything in between. I love working with my students to make learning a tricky instrument fun and rewarding!
STUDENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
My students have earned places in their junior high and high school advanced orchestras, auditioned in to university orchestras, and been accepted to the BYU Music Program.
TEACHING
I am a professional violist with an extensive violin background. I teach on both. In addition to my private studio I am adjunct faculty at BYU for both violin and viola.
