Recently relocated to Salt Lake City from Boston, Swara Strings is a group of professional musicians that play event music in the Greater Salt Lake City area. In the past they have played for weddings, retirement parties, and other corporate events. Read here for more information and to request a quote. Devan is a violist for Swara Strings and acts as coordinator.

GENERAL INFORMATION

​

The standard group for these types of events is a string quartet (two violins, viola, cello), though depending on the size of event, number of players can be negotiated. Every event is unique and Devan will work with you to determine the best musical fit for your wants! Swara Strings generally plays classical music, but upon request may arrange popular tunes (past requests include: Beatles tunes, 70's hits, current pop songs).

RATES

​

Typically Swara charges a $50 nonrefundable booking fee and then $100 per musician per hour. So if you need a quartet for 1.5 hours the total fee would be $650. This amount covers rehearsal time, setup time, playing time, and travel time. 

​

If there is a specific song that you would like to request, that is not already on our repertoire list, we are happy to find an arrangement, or write one. An additional fee may be assessed depending on the song. This fee usually ranges from $15-$30. 

​

If the venue for your event is outside our normal radius, there may also be a distance fee.
